With the influence of hormones the body might produce some local fat deposits which resist the best slimming procedures (taking exercise or dieting). In case of women, these fat deposits are located around the hips, the thighs or the abdomen. In case of men, the fat deposits are especially located around the abdomen, hips and breasts.

How does it work

Liposuction will give you more muscle tone and shapeliness. Liposuction should be seen as sucking (suction) away the fat (lipo).

Liposculpture is the modern form of liposuction. The fat is drained off by fine needles. The more advanced technique reduces the side affects such as bruising, pain and oedema. If you know that 1 liter of fat only weighs 500 grams, you will understand that liposculpture is not a way to lose weigh.

Consultation for a liposculpture or liposuccion

During a prior consultation we will check if liposculpture might be a solution to your figure problem, because although this technique seems magical, it does not work wonders. Important factors are the quality of the skin and muscle tissues. Next to this, liposculpture is not the right solution for people suffering from overweight. In this case it’s better to slim first.

Will the excessive skin be treated by liposuction?

Liposuction in itself won’t treat the excessive skin, but the skin will retract in the months following your surgery. If you have saggy skin, our surgeon may suggest to perform a lift in combination with the liposuction.

Liposuccion or Liposculpture?

The terms liposuction and liposculpture are often mixed as synonymes. With the traditional liposuction the surgeons used to suck away the deep fat with big tubes. Often other tissues than fat were aspired.

Thanks to the advanced techniques of liposculpture the fat removal is more effective.
Is liposuction effective in case of cellulites?

Due to the hypertrophy of fat cells, which serves to stock the fat, cellulitis may be caused. By means of a lipo treatment the stubborn fat will be reduced, your figure will improve and thus your self-confidence will increase. Unfortunately the cellulitis will not improve by this treatment. In order to treat cellulitis we recommend to follow a healthy lifestyle with a well-balanced eating pattern and regular physical exercices.

Liposculpture: the intervention

A liposculpture takes about 1 hour and a half to 3 hours, it depends on the number of areas which must be treated. You can go home the same day.

To reach the greatest effect it’s vital that you prepare your body to the liposculpture. You can do this by drainage of tissue fluid. (Massages which activate the circulation of fluid in the body). A similar post operative treatment will enhance a positive effect.

Following the liposculpture you might experience some oedema (accumulation of fluid). But this will gradually disappear. We advise you to wear a special liposculpture-garment for six weeks. This lipo-panty will be given to you after the operation.

Possible scars are small and will gradually become almost imperceptible. The new contours of your body will be visible after 2 to 3 weeks. Although it might last three to six months until you get your definitive figure.
